Custom Install at Secret Admirer — Kingston, NY

Posted by Patrick Glynn on

I made a trip down to Kingston, NY to help with an install at Red Owl Collective for Secret Admirer Studio. Recently, she expanded into the booth across from her original space and needed more display.

The Challenge

She had a contractor lined up, but things weren’t coming together the way she had hoped. With the new space opening up, timing mattered. She wasn’t sure she’d be able to get everything installed on time, so she reached out to have me come down and take care of it.

The Approach

We kept things consistent with the original setup—simple, functional, and built to last. The goal was to create a layout that felt intentional across both booths without overcomplicating anything.

April has a great eye for how she wants the space to feel. The expansion gave her room to breathe and really showcase her inventory. Once everything was installed, it all came together quickly.

What Made It Special

There’s something satisfying about seeing these setups evolve over time. Starting with a single rack and building into a full booth setup that actually works for how someone sells day-to-day.

Also worth mentioning—Kingston has some great coffee shops in town. They definitely helped fuel the install and the drive home to Vermont after.

About the Space and Secret Admirer

Secret Admirer Studio is what really makes this space stand out. April designs and builds repurposed garments that blend vintage materials with modern cuts—everything feels one-of-a-kind. It’s the kind of clothing you don’t come across twice. Her booth reflects that same approach: thoughtful, a little unexpected, and full of personality. It lives inside Red Owl Collective, which is packed with other vendors—clothing, vinyl, furniture, handmade goods—but Secret Admirer holds its own in a way that’s hard to miss.
