KISH Boutique – Large Space-Saving Wall Racks with Maple Shelves & Hooks

KISH is a boutique in Burlington, VT known for its curated mix of contemporary women’s clothing and accessories. With a compact footprint and a focus on creating an uncluttered, modern shopping experience, every inch of the store matters. The owner wanted to free up floor space, improve flow for customers, and add fixtures that matched the clean aesthetic of the shop. That’s where Monroe Trades came in—designing a series of wall racks and custom pieces that made the most of KISH’s layout while staying true to its style.

The Challenge

• Freestanding racks were consuming too much floor space.
• Needed to fit more inventory while keeping an open, easy-to-shop layout.
• New fixtures had to tie in with KISH’s existing maple counter surfaces.

The Approach

We combined wall-mounted and freestanding solutions, customizing dimensions for the room’s slope and optimizing span and support for heavy retail loads. Natural maple tops with a clear finish add warmth and durability without visual clutter.

• Colossal 12' span for high-capacity merchandising.
• Center vertical post + additional wall mounts to manage load and deflection.

Accessory: Eight-Sided Wood & Steel Clamp-On Hook

• Custom clamp-on hook we began producing earlier this year; it’s quickly become a popular add-on.
• Ideal for bags and accessories without drilling new holes.

Design Details

• Materials: Industrial steel, 2" maple tops, clear finish.
• Look: Clean and modern with minimal footprint.
• Fit & Finish: Floor-slope adjustments, oversized spans, and anchored wall supports for daily retail loads.

The maple details soften the industrial steel, the oversized spans provide capacity without bulk, and the clamp-on hooks add flexibility as displays evolve.
